  1. These muffins are very bland and somehow, despite not having any cornmeal in them, taste similar to cornbread muffins I’ve had at restaurants. They also didn’t puff up on top like a muffin is supposed to. Instead they just ran over the top of the pan so they had a weird flat cap on them. All in all, a crap recipe.

  2. I just finished baking these muffins and *had* to sample one, just to make sure they were ok before serving the in-laws 🙂 They were fantastic! That little cinnamon/sugar topping gives the muffin a nice pop of flavor. I made the recipe exactly as shown and love it! Thank you!

  3. Very good muffins. I only got 9 muffins out of the batch which means my husband and I will be fighting over that odd one. heheheh I think next time (and there will be a next time) I will use just a little less nutmeg. I think what I liked best was the dipping the top in butter then cinnamon sugar. That struck me as ingenious.

  4. WOW…sounds like recipe# 84829 baked donut muffins. I have made the baked donut muffins and they are good,…..

  5. These are a great tasting little muffin! I used my Nordic Ware Patty Pan tray, this was the perfect size for this recipe. Don’t overmix and you’ll end up with light and fluffy cakes.
I found I had a lot of the topping mixture left over so I would cut down on that next time and use caster sugar inplace of the regular.
    Thanks for sharing…it was great!
