Nutmeg and cinnamon add a zing to this banana cake.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup softened butter
  • 1½ cup sugar
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cup cake flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • ½ cup plain low-fat yogurt

Preparation

  1. With an electric mixer on medium, beat butter for 1 minute. Beat in sugar, bananas, eggs, and vanilla extract. Add cake flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Beat for 2 minutes. Add plain low-fat yogurt.
  2. Spoon batter into greased 9-inch square pan. Bake at 350°F for 35 minutes or until done. Frost.
